Summary : Cropmarks of linear ditches, possibly a field system of Roman date associated with Ilchester were recorded at this location parallel with the Foss Way (Roman Road 5a).
More information : ST 515 216 (FCE) A rapid examination of air photography (1a) suggests the presence of a group of linear ditches forming regular strips and fields, apparently running parallel with the Foss Way (Roman Road RR 5a) and therefore possibly forming a Roman field system, which may relate to Ilchester. (1)
