Summary : The horse is said to have been cut in 1838 by Henry Eatwell, parish clerk of Broad Hinton, with the assistance of the local publican, to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Victoria. The horse is a square figure 90 by 90 feet, with a docked tail, round eye and horn like ears. The figure was re-cut and re-chalked by volunteers from the Royal Mail offices in 1994.
