More information : About 84m NW of the centre of the Stannon Stone circle are four uprights in a crude line; they stand out due to a total absence of other man-made features. They have no convincing astronomical alignment from the circle but are diametrically opposite the Louden circle half a mile away. (1)
At SX 12508006, on a very slight N slope are four earthfast stones extending over 5.8m N to S and no more than 1m apart E to W. They are in a stone free area and it is most improbable that they are a fortuitous natural arrangement. No surface depressions were found to indicate any former extension, and the stones are too staggered to be part of a normal stone row. Although 60m NW of the Stannon stone circle perimeter they are not aligned upon it, but from them a view of the complete circle is obtained. Fuller details of RCHME field survey and observations can be found in the project archive. (2)
