WANSTEAD HOUSE

DESCRIPTION + /

Medieval manor house documented from the 13th century and surveyed as a royal hunting lodge during the 16th century. It was rebuilt in 1549 but demolished 1715 to make way for the new house by Colin Campbell. Field investigations by RCHME field staff in 1989-90 located no traces of the building.
