Summary : A Roman inscribed marble tombstone was found at Islington before 1850.

Roman marble tombstone described as found in Lambes Conduit Street (TQ 306819), but Archer made a drawing of it in 1850 on which he describes it as found in Islington. It was probably lost and rediscovered in Lamb's Conduit Street. Above is a releif of a standing half-draped male and below 3 lines of text in Greek of which only the ends are visible. (1)
