Summary : A Bronze Age burial cairn on Sheepwash Bank.
More information : SK 2324 8398 (FCE). Bronze Age burial cairn on Sheepwash Bank. The earthwork remains comprise a low stony sub-circular mound measuring 15m in diameter NW-SE and 9m in diameter NE-SW. Surface quarrying on its south side has removed an estimated 50% of its original fabric.

Two further possible burial cairns lie at SK 2316 8409 (SK 28 SW 71) and SK 2282 8404 (SK 28 SW 73).

The above description is summarised from a detailed level 3 RCHME 1:1000 scale survey conducted in May 1987. The products of the survey are held in the NMR archive. (1)
