More information : SK 2316 8409 (FCE). Bronze Age burial cairn on Sheepwash Bank. The feature has previously been included as part of record SK 28 SW 1, where it is described as an `Earth Circle' and has been misinterpreted as a house site (hut circle `C'). See SK 28 SW 1 for the previous recording and survey history of the monument.
The earthwork remains comprise a stony circular mound, 11m in diameter and 0.3m high. It has been extensively robbed by sporadic trenching for stone and was probably originally a much more substantial feature.
Two further possible burial cairns lie at SK 2324 8398 (SK 28 SW 72) and SK 2282 8404 (SK 28 SW 73).
