More information : SP 817 919 An extensive area of Roman building material, including tesserae, pottery box flue tiles, stone diamond shaped roof tiles and wall plaster, was found on the Drayton/Medbourne border. Large pieces of opus signinum flooring were recovered by the farmer during drilling operations. Some Iron Age pottery of the Breedon tradition was also recovered. (1)
The site was fieldwalked again; Prehistoric and Roman pottery, Roman tile, tesserae and building stone again found. Struck and worked flint including a chisel type transverse arrowhead were also found. A column capital/base was found by farmer. (2)
