More information : NZ 1601 6683. When Wall-turret 10A (at NZ 1601 6683) (see NZ 16 NE 9) was excavated in 1980, a series of criss-cross grooves were found both in and around the turret, and pre-dating it. These were predominantly asymetrical, being almost vertical on one side and sloping away more gradually on the other. These were interpreted as prehistoric ard marks. (1)
The excavation was back-filled, and both turret and ard marks are now sealed beneath the modern road. (2) |
