More information : (NY 3866 7147) Coophouse (NAT) (1)
Coophouse, an eyecatcher in mock castellated style built in the late 18th century with early 19th century additions, was surveyed by RCHME at 1:250 scale as a part of the Coophouse Survey. It was formerly the river keeper's cottage, built alongside some extensive fish traps (NY 37 SE 11), which were partly exposed during the early stages of the renovation of the house by Landmark Trust. The cottage had been last occupied c.1936, but by 1992 it was unroofed and in poor condition leaning towards the river. It has now been restored for use as a holiday cottage (2). |
