This 100m long trench has five traverses leading to a strongpoint
which forms part of the defences of Godwin Battery. The site is a
simple earthwork construction which was plotted from aerial
photographs dated 1940 by the Fortress Studies Group. The FSG also surveyed the site during the Holderness Survey in 1992, they found the site to be totally destroyed.(1-1a)

The monument is also visible as an earthwork on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)

World War 2 100 metre long trench with 5 traverses leading to a strongpoint which forms part of the defences of Godwin Battery. The site is a simple earthwork construction. (3)
