This pillbox, linked to the Godwin Battery by a tunnel (TA 41 NW 34), is situated on high ground to the north west of the battery (now Sandy Beaches caravan site). The position is of concrete construction and has a wide opening and a concrete roof. The site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 during the Holderness Survey. The FSG found the site to be good condition and felt it to be at little or no risk.(1)
The site was visited by R.Thomas in Febuary 1995, he found the site to be in good condition.(2)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures and earthworks on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. The pillbox is surrounded by an extensive barbed wire fence and has associated trackways. An infantry trench is visible to the east (UID 930187). (3)
