Summary : 17-21 Bolton Road. Three houses designed by William Owen for William Hesketh Lever in 1890 and are of two storeys, constructed of brick, stone, roughcast and timber with a tiled roof. These are some of the larger houses in the village which were for the heads of factory departments and other professionals serving the village. Occupants of these houses included a minister, doctor and school master. The houses were converted into flats after World War II.
