The town of Brigg, originally called Glanford Brigg, Brigg was referred to in the Charter Rolls in 1183 as Glanford (a). In 1218, the Assize Rolls referred to the Punt de Glanford (b), and the Charter Rolls in 1235 called the town Glanford Brigg (c). The Feet of Fines in 1256 mentioned the town of Glannford (d), while the Inquisitions Post Mortem in 1294 mentions Glaumford Bridge (e). (1-1e) |
