Summary : The site of a small square cropmark with possible central pit in the north-east angle of Wall 1 Roman camp. It is a possible Roman cemetery feature as a cremation cemetery lies nearby.
More information : SK 0908 0671 (FCE). A very small square cropmark with a possible central pit visible in the NE corner of Wall 1 Roman camp (SK 00 NE 9) may represent a Roman burial associated with the extensive cemetery which lay W of Wall and N of the Roman road. (see SK 00 NE 4). A small rectangular ditched enclosure (SK 00 NE 12) appearing to
overlie the SE corner of camp 1 may represent a related feature.
