Summary : A small bowl barrow conjoined to Milton Lilbourne 2 and 4. Excavations in 1958 showed to to have previously been excavated. A central grave was located. Bronze Age pottery was found from the lower fills of the ditches, Roman pottery in the upper filling. |
More information : SU 19995787: Milton Lilbourne 3, a bowl barrow 51 x 4ft, between and probably co-eval with two bell barrows. It may have been regarded as a triple barrow with Milton Lilbourne 2 (SU 15 NE 99) and Milton Lilbourne 4 (SU 15 NE 101). (1)

SU 19995787. A small bowl barrow conjoined with Milton Lilbourne 2 and 4. Previously recorded by Cunnington as seemed to have been opened. Excavations carried out in 1958 located a central grave which had been disturbed by earlier investigations. An undecorated pottery sherd, bone and a flint flake were recovered. Bronze Age pottery was recovered within the lower fills of the ditches, Roman pottery recovered from the upper fills. (3)
