Summary : World War II pillbox, situated to the north of Tunstall. The re-inforced concrete structure was built between 1940 and 1941.
More information : (TA 3000 3271) Lozenge pillbox. (see TA 14 NE 16 for full description) This pillbox, of the standard `lozenge' type, is situated to the north west of Tunstall. The building is of re-inforced concrete construction and was visited by the Fortress Studies group during the Holderness Survey in 1992. The FSG considered the site to be in good condition and felt that it was at little, or no risk. (1) Pillbox. Location: North of Tunstall. Construction: In the period 1940 1941 Field Visit: In the period 1992/04/09 1992/04/12 (2) World War 2 lozenge shaped pillbox to the northwest of Tunstall. Considered to be in good condition in 1992 and at little or no risk. (3)
