More information : (TA 3965 1086) Jetty / 3 x World War II CASL's.
This wooden decked jetty, formally used for the re-supplying and building of Bull Sand Sea Fort, provided the terminal for the Spurn Point Military Railway. The structure was constructed on concrete piles and had three coastal artillery searchlights built on it in World War II. The site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 during the Holderness Survey, they found the site to be in poor condition, and felt that it was beyond repair. (1-1a)
The monument is also visible as an upstanding structure on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)
