More information : TA 2090 4834/TA 2083 4832. Anti-tank cubes.
This single line of twenty four anti-tank cubes was situated in a position designed to split the beach into sections to isolate units of the enemy in the event of an invasion. They were reinforced concrete blocks of one size. The site was plotted from aerial photographs dated 1945, and was visited by the Fortress Studies Group during the Holderness Survey in 1992, they found that no trace of the site remained. (1-1a)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. Due to coastal erosion the monument no longer survives in situ. (1a)
