Summary : A World War II army camp suggested by a group of four Nissen huts, positioned at the southern end of Hornsea. The huts are of the standard type of construction, being built of a mixture of reinforced concrete and corrugated material. The site was plotted from aerial photographs dated 1945, but when the site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 they found it to be totally destroyed. |

This group of 4 Nissen huts, positioned at the southern end of Hornsea are closely related to the hardstanding area at TA 2038 4646. The huts are of the standard type of construction, being built of a mixture of reinforced concrete and corrugated material. The site was plotted from aerial photographs dated 1945, but when the site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 they found it to be totally destroyed. (1-1a)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)

The huts are of the standard type of construction, being built of a mixture of reinforced concrete and corrugated material. The site was plotted from Aerial Photographs dated 1945. Destroyed by 1992.
