Summary : Engine room (generator house) built during World War Two for the the Battery Observation Post of Ringborough coastal battery.
More information : (TA 2636 3863) Fire Control radar engine room.

This engine room is situated to the east of Hilltop Farm. It is a
single storey, rectangular plan, re-inforced concrete structure with
a flat roof. There are several sets of dog-leg vents around the
building, and a raised concrete engine bed inside. The doorway is
protected by a concrete porch. This engine room would have provided
auxillary power for the nearby Fire Control (FC) radar equipped
counter bombardment battery observation post, associated with
Ringborough Battery. The site was surveyed by the Fortress Study
Group in 1992, they found the site to be in good condition, but felt
that it was at risk. (1)
