More information : (TA 2725 3719) Lozenge pillbox.
(see TA 14 NE 16 for full description)
This lozenge style pillbox is positioned on the west, landward side of Ringbrough Battery. It is a re-inforced concrete structure which pre-dates the battery itself, it has a door in the north wall and follows the standard design for this type of pillbox. After the construction of the battery the pillbox was incorporated into the perimeter defence of the battery complex. The site was visited by the Fortress Studies Group in 1992 as part of the Holderness Survey. They found the building to be in good condition and under little, or no risk. (1-1a)
The monument is also visible as upstanding structures on air photographs examined as part of the Rapid Coastal Assessment Survey of the Yorkshire and Humber Estuary. (2)
