More information : This site has been surveyed in connection with RCHME's survey and
publication of Roman Camps in England. The following descriptive
account is taken from the published text.

NT 7876 0883. Earthwork remains of the Chew Green inn. The inn,
which as probably still operating at the time of Roy's plan of Chew
Green in 1774, stood among the braided hollow-ways of Dere Street and
its successors. Full information is included in the NMR Archive. (1)
