(see TA 14 NE 16 for full description) Set in allotments north of Hornsea Mere this lozenge style pillbox is an example of one of the standard types of east coast pillbox. A semi -sunken, earth covered structure, this pillbox is constructed of reinforced concrete. The pillbox has 2 long loops to the front with the rear loops being knocked into one, the loops in the north end have been widened but those in the south are a standard type. The building was visited by the Fortress Studies group in 1992 as part of the FSG,RCHME:Holderness Survey they found the site to be in good condition and at no apparent risk. (1)
