Summary : A World War Two air raid shelter at Catfoss Airfield.
More information : (TA 1204 4770) Air raid shelter.

This `Stanton' air raid shelter is situated in a field to the north
of the village of Brandesburton, it is aligned east-west and is
constructed of concrete parabolic sections. The shelter is a semi
sunken structure and has a brick blast wall protecting the open east
end. At the west end of the building is a square concrete pre-cast
ventilator to provide some fresh air for the occupants. The whole
structure is covered with earth to provide some protection from blast
damage and to give some measure of camouflage. The building was
visited by the Fortress Study Group in 1992 as part of the Holderness
Survey, they found the site in good condition and considered it to be
at little or no risk. (1)
