Summary : A World War II air raid shelter at Catfoss Airfield.

This `Stanton' air raid shelter is situated to the east of Catfoss
Airfield, just to the north of the village of Brandesburton. The
shelter is aligned north-south and is constructed of pre-cast
parabolic sections. The shelter has a brick blast wall protecting the
doorway in the south wall and brick end walls. There is a square pre
cast concrete section ventilator in the northern closed end; the
whole is covered with earth for protection and camouflage. The site
was surveyed in 1992 by the Fortress Studies Group and was found to
be in good condition and at little or no risk. (1)
