More information : Wreck event and documentary evidence:
Ex-TOGO. Torpedoed and sunk by German submarine UB125 early in the morning. At about the same time the American steamship LAKE OWENS was also torpedoed and sunk in the same area, probably by the same enemy vessel. A total of 44 survivors from both vessels landed at Newquay from patrol boats, which included 20 men from the BRAVA. (1)
Captain Rocha and the other 30 of his crew landed in their own boats at Padstow.(1)
BRAVA, Portugese steamship, torpedoed and sunk by German submarine UB125 while on a passage from Bordeaux, France to Cardiff, Wales, she sank 3.5 miles NW of Trevose Head.

6 x 12pdr shell cases and sealing caps; 6 x 3" shell case bases; 6 x star-shaped primer protectors made of brass; 1 x ceramic bulb holder; 2 x ceramic brown 4" square tiles; 1 x small circular drawer handle. The objects were recovered from the wreck believed to be the BRAVA, approximately 4 miles north-west of Trevose Head, Cornwall. (Droit 041/01) (7)
