Tower 21B, situated on the seaward slope of a low hill called Brownrigg, was discovered by Bellhouse in 1962, and was subsequently excavated. (2-3)

The excavator, Mr RL Bellhouse (6a), pointed out the site of tower 21b at NY 0608 3919 on a slight terrace in a seaward-facing slope within a field of pasture. Probing revealed a distinct stony content in an area generally devoid of stone, but there is no trace of the tower above ground. (6)

A Roman tower is visible as a cropmark on air photographs. The tower is rectangular in form and measures approximately 7m by 9m. (8)
