Beeston's Bastion. Originally designed as a square tower (the Square or Dock Bulwark) adjoining the outer side of the NW corner ca.1545, it was converted to a demi-bastion by de Gomne and considerably strengthened by Desmaretz. Demolished ca.1870. (1)
