Summary : Beeston's Bastion, demolished circa 1870. Converted 1677-88 from a square tower of circa 1545.
More information : (SZ63229981. Beeston's Bastion sited from OS 2500 1966 and Auth 1) Beeston's Bastion. Originally designed as a square tower (the Square or Dock Bulwark) adjoining the outer side of the NW corner ca.1545, it was converted to a demi-bastion by de Gomne and considerably strengthened by Desmaretz. Demolished ca.1870. (1)
