Summary : Medieval and/or Post Medieval salterns seen as cropmarks and earthworks.

Four Medieval and/or Post Medieval salterns were seen as earthworks
and mapped from poor quality air photographs in the vicinity of
the grid reference cited by authority 1. Three of the salterns
centred at TF 4060 9771, TF 4099 9802 and TF 4118 9793 have only been
seen as cropmarks. The fourth at TF 4128 9763 was visible as an
earthwork and appears to be associated with an enclosure, measuring
50m by 40m, which has a wide enclosing ditch.
