Summary : Site of a Bronze Age bowl barrow forming part of the Aston Valley Barrow Cemetery situated south of Codford Down. The barrow, designated as Codford St Peter 1a by Grinsell (1957), is located to east of the cemetery's largest bowl barrow (Monument HOB UID 887655 - ST 94 SE 54). Excavations by William Cunnington in 1801 recorded a circular shaft and primary and secondary cremations.

Please see this record for additional information held for this barrow and barrow cemetery.) ST 97054269 Codford St Peter 1a, a small low barrow, almost ploughed out. Contained a circular shaft 5 feet deep. Nearby was a possible primary cremation within a cist, and a secondary cremation with urn fragments. (1-2) Barrow G; No traces of barrow, presumably has been destroyed by ploughing. (3) No change; report of 07-Jan-1969 correct. (4)
