WORKINGTON HALL

DESCRIPTION + /

Tower probably erected in 1362 and greatly enlarged in the 15th century, probably circa 1404, to become a fortified tower house. New windows were inserted in the early 16th century and in the late 16th century the north range was extended. There were some alterations in the mid 17th century. Additions were also carried out between 1783-89, probably by John Carr. The building is now ruinous.
