More information : (SJ49911249) Abbey Grave Yard [NAT].(1) "A few years ago", (ie before 1908), when a drain was being made along the new road, it was possible to pick out some of the foundations of the abbey buildings. Beyond the East wall of the chapterhouse, "in the normal position of the cemetery", were several stone coffins containing skeletons.(2) The Abbey Graveyard is occupied by lawns with some gravestones.(3)
