Summary : A Roman coin hoard of 20-30 coins of Vespasian was found at Greenrow School, Silloth, in 1841.
More information : NY 11075281 Greenrow School, Silloth. Ian Caruana (of Carlisle
Archaeological Unit) has drawn attention to a reference (a) to the
discovery at Greenrow School, Silloth in 1841 of a scattered hoard of
20-30 Aes coins of Vespasian, Trajan and Hadrian. The reference also
mentions fragments of a pottery jar, which had presumably housed the
coins. (1)
