Summary : Parish church, and possibly the former conventual church of the priory. The church was apparently built late in the 12th century, when it consisted of a chancel and a nave of the same proportions as the present nave, with North and South aisles. Early in the 14th century, the chancel was rebuilt and a North chapel added to it. During the 15th century, the West tower, North and South porches were added and the clerestory built. The church was restored in 1881 when a West gallery was removed. |

The walls of the nave and tower have embattled parapets, and the other walls have moulded parapets, those of the chancel being modern. The roofs are covered with lead. The church was apparently built late in the C12th, when it consisted of a chancel and a nave of the same proportions as the present nave, with North and South aisles. Early in the C14th, the chancel was rebuilt and a North chapel added to it. During the C15th, the West tower, North and South porches were added and the clerestory built. The church was restored in 1881 when a West gallery was removed. The church is interesting on account of the late C12th work in the chancel, the C14th arcades, a C14th image, and the C17th font cover.(2)
