Summary : Possible remains of 1918 wreck of English cargo vessel, located approximately 1.25 miles NNW of Zennor Head. If the DENEBOLA, she foundered after being torpedoed en route from Swansea for Rouen with coal. The remains at this site were formerly attributed to the site now confirmed as the SAXON BRITON to the west (832079). The present site was in its turn formerly attributed to the SAXON BRITON (i.e. the attributions of the two sites were formerly reversed). Torpedoed by German submarine.(WW1SL).
Sunk 3 miles NNE from Gurnard Head. (WW1SL). Plots in 50 14 24N 05 34 00W.
18-JUL-1973: Wreck in 50 13 18N 05 34 57W. Believed to be SAXON BRITON. Lies N/S with forward part on its starboard side and stern upside down. Cast iron propeller. Evidence of salvage work. Engine is covered with hull plates. Anchors at N end. Superstructure and masts form a heap of rubble.
23-SEP-1986: Dived on 42m at HW, stands 3m high at boilers. Wreck very broken and flattened. (1)(3)

Position precisely known, 15m depth in general depth 32m.
18-DEC-2002: Dived in 50 13.317N 005 39.946W. No scour; seabed shingle. Drive shaft lies at an angle to the wreck, no debris field. Engine not recognisable. Four-bladed iron prop attached, ?.75mm gun at stern; moderate magnetic anomaly. (3)
