Surface finds of Roman and Anglo-Saxon pottery and animal bone found in areas of dark soil (presumably representing some sort of archaeological features) on the southern slope of Welbeck Hill. The Saxon pottery was said to be similar to the Early Saxon material recovered from a cemetery site elswhere at Welbeck Hill.
