A 3rd/4th century courtyard villa of which parts of the east and south ranges are shown on Plan I. In the east range are mosaic floors and a small bath house (Plan II) (5). Just north of the modern road, finds of two mosaic floors and Roman building define the line of the north range (7). Other notable finds are roof tiles and painted wall plaster (2); coins extend from Domitian (81-96) to Constantine I (306-37) (4). Under the villa three sides of a 1st/2nd century ditched and stockaded rectangular enclosure were found with the east side below the bath house; together with traces of a timber gateway and timber buildings (4). Iron Age ditches and circular huts underlay the site (3 & 6). (2-9)

Three inhumations with late La Tene brooches, one penannular, and pottery found. (11-12)

Full excavation report. The pottery suggests that there was occupation on the site from the 3rd century BC until circa AD 380. Earlier finds included flint scrapers, blades, arrowheads and a pestle mace-head. (14)
