Summary : Preaching Cross in St Christopher's Churchyard. The base is medieval the shaft and surviving part of the head added during the 18th century. The base is made of two sqare blocks of gritstone, with the letters ET carved into the southern side. The shaft is set into this and stands 3.2m haigh.
More information : [SJ 9445 7921] St. Christopher's Church [TU] (1) The churchyard cross is of great age and thought to be a preaching cross ante-dating the church, which is 14th century. (2) The cross at SJ 94467920, is comprised of a base, plain socket stone, shaft and cross-head. It shows little sign of weathering. See G.P. A.O./64/13/1. (3)
