More information : (SJ 99266330) Roach Grange (NAT) (1) Roch was a grange of Dieulacresse Abbey (SJ 95 NE 1). In 1709, James Rudyeard 'of the Abbey' confirmed a grant of twenty shilling yearly on Roach Grange. (2)
Roach Grange comprises three farmhouses with their component buildings. Apart from one out-building at SJ 99256325, dated by an inscribed stone "JM 1699", none of the buildings has any features of historic or architectural interest. Oral statements from their tenants and the evidence of a sign-post on the road to the farms indicate that the name should be Roche Grange. (3)
