MONUMENT NO. 77504

DESCRIPTION + /

Remains of a manorial moat and nearby ponds, all of which survive as earthworks. This probably marks the site of the caput of The Hyde manor, documented in the late 14th century. The ponds may be both fishponds and ornamental display features. Rescue excavations have produced 13th/14th century occupation evidence associated with the moat.
