Summary : Parish church. Of Saxon origin, 8th century or later, but mainly 14th century, with a 13th century transept, restored by GE Street 1881. Aisless nave and chancel, south transept, south porch beneath tower.
More information : (SU 35931647) Church of St Boniface [NAT] (1) Church of St Boniface. Essentially C14th, restored conservatively in 1881 by Street and F W Kinnear Tarte in 1890. Aisleless C14th nave, chancel, C14th South porch beneath the tower, C13th South transept. Grade II* (2,3) Pre-Conquest architecture has been observed in the church beneath walls which had previously been rendered. (This is thought to be on or near the site of the Early Medieval monastery of St Boniface - see SU 31 NE 32) (4)
