Summary : The gatehouse is dated to the 14th century and is of two storeys built of flint rubble, faced on the east and west walls with knapped flint and galetting and with dressings of imported limestone. The chamber above the gate arch was used as a chapel. |

Extant remains of the friary comprise a small buttressed gate-house of typical Norfolk flint and stone construction with later brick dressing; it is in excellent condition standing to its original height and is maintained by Norfolk C.C. Architecture is 14th century, the ground floor showing some very fine rib vaulting (2).
