Summary : Church now demolished except for the 15th century tower. The church was dedicated in 669 but the earliest foundations to have been found are 12th century. The church was demolished and rebuilt in 1593 and 1766. The chancel was demolished and rebuilt in 1792, 1833 and 1893. In 1976 the nave and chancel were considered dangerous, the foundations could not be stabilised and the church was demolished except for the tower which was saved after extensive engineering works. The tower is listed and the site of the rest of the church is scheduled. |
