MONUMENT NO. 73903

DESCRIPTION + /

Site of a moat, probably a former manor house. Recorded in 1471 as being so ruinous as to be worth nothing, it may be the site of a castle at Newport recorded by Leland. The moat was largely infilled and built over by developments in the late 19th century.
