CHARLTON CASTLE

The site of a medieval fortified manor house, possibly of early 14th century date. Fragments of walling and the earthwork remains of a moat and fishpond survive. Alleged ridge and furrow between the moat and the fishpond were investigated and found to be drainage ditches.
