Summary : A Possible Roman road was seen in section in 1960.
More information : In 1960 a section was cut across the B4380 road 4m
south of the junction with the A5. At a depth of about 1.5m a
stone or large pebble, level surface was seen aiming apparently
across the A5 and possibly going beneath the park lodge opposite.
It had the appearance of a buried road surface with some wear.
The eastern edge was clearly seen overlaid by a black strong mix
and then by modern hardcore and asphalt. (1)
