More information : [Marginal' In Sept '60 a fragment of a Roman altar was noticed built into a garden wall in the modern village of Wroxeter. A photograph and squeeze was sent to Mr. R.P. Wright who comments that no letters are now visible for the first line and the second line contains the letters ARA M: the third D(ONO) D(IDIT) and the fourth DEO V.. When the site was visited in Sept '62 to arrange for the transfer it was discovered that a house had been built on the site and the section of the wall had been removed. Fortunately the altar fragment was found, but in two pieces and with other damage, The pieces are now in the University Training School on the Baths Site. (1)
