Summary : Medieval churchyard cross on three steps in St Edith's churchyard. The steps are constructed of local red sandstone carved into ashlar blocks. The octagonal shaft has been restored and reset into the base, sources differ concerning the date of this restration but it occured between 1889 and 1899. The shaft stands 1.2m high and the head is missing. There are four cup shaped depressions in the top reputedly for offerings during the plague in the 17th century. Scheduled.

A churchyard cross consisting of an octagonal shaft on four
steps, the lower being 7 ft square. It is in its original
position, and was restored in April 1889. (2)

The cross consists of a calvary of three steps surmounted by a
socket stone: into this has been inserted a modern sand-stone
block. It is square to octagonal, 0.35 m across and protruds 0.3 m
from the socket. Mounted on it, is the original shaft.
