More information : [Name:SJ 3846 6100] Belgrave [T.I.] (1) Belgrave, anciently a small manor with Eccleston... was in the 13th c. held by the family of Ingeniator or L'enginour.. A hamlet called Belgrave is mentioned Ing. 23 Eliz. Both hamlet and manor have long since been entirely obliterated by the extensive improvements connected with Eaton and its neighbourhood, a park lodge at [SJ 3866 6122] only affording some trace of.. an interesting locality.' (2) [Area SJ 384610] Belgreave [Two houses shown on the W. side of the road and three on the E.] (3) Air photographs of the area were examined with negative result. (4) No trace of the village was found in the area which is covered largely by wood and parkland. The park lodge at SJ 38666112 has a datestone of 1889 and appears to be entirely of about that period.
